I so desperately wanted to play a rook who was serious and thoughtful but no matter what every line felt like a quip or a joke. I generally like all the actors they chose to voice rook but rook's writing is the weakest of the whole cast hands down and that's the player character... So I think it makes perfect sense to feel disappointment.

Yeah the voice actors have been killin it; I really like Emmrich, Lace, and Solas' (as usual, king GDL, my goat, I'm biased, etc etc) performances in particular.

Emmrich discussing his relationship with death. Bellara opening up about her brother. They really shine in more grounded/serious scenes, which is why I wish the tone was less light.

Companions have always been quirky lbr, but it felt more balanced and well-timed than this. My girl Harding feels too wholesome-awkward to be a 35+ year old Inquisition scout. Rook feels too inexperienced and laidback to be a leader. Lucanis is a very handsome barista who I keep forgetting is part of the organization that ruined Zevran's life. Davrin and Assan have their own lil sitcom going on during this double blight. So on so forth.

Without rehashing whats been discussed a trillion times: the vibes are just off.
